Hi all
I was thinking of setting up a 6ft bud stationary for AMC 3 83w. this spring ( it's like spring here today sunny and warm)
I am on the west cost near Vancouver. Lyngsat says 5ft would work.
Is this too small? What's the signal like from AMC 3?

I used my 6' solid for c band in the past with excellent results. However, a 6' dish will not pull in the weaker tp and you would need a larger dish for the s2/qpsk/8psk hd channels. Just curious Paul, still having tree issues? A huge dish like that needs to be mortorised, why limit yourself to one sat when a motor will pull you in 30 sats.

Sounds like a bud that needs some tlc. 12' sounds awesome Paul.

Definitely a great choice in the 12' bud. The retro channels are all in the clear but they are s2/8psk so a bud will be required of at least 10'.

I tried many times to pull in the RTV channels on 87 W with a 7.5 foor mesh. I could get some things on 87 but not the TRV channels. I ended up replacing the 7.5 with a 10 footer and I get all of them.

One thing I want to point out to you as well Paul, the retro channels are not net channels(abc, nbc,cbs or fox. The only one sat they can be found on, with the exception of cbs would be G16 at 99w. Hd net feeds are scattered over several sats.

I decided to get the bud in the mud. Have most of the parts. No motor. Need to get new L N B F and motor. Have it home and it was in ruff shape .it is a 10-foot mesh dish not 12 foot. Almost have it fixed. Just no time right now to do much on it. Ordered a new sathawk receiver. Price was less $200 Canuck bucks to my door.
Could not what any longer for a new receiver so I will try this one out. It is light years ahead of what I am using now. So were slowly getting there.
