It looks like the Enigma2 operating system is based on Open PLI. I have yet to see blind scan on Open PLI yet, but this does not mean they do or do not have it in their system. We will have to wait and see.
Open PLI is my favorite E2 firmware right now.

More info on this receiver will be posted as it becomes available. EB

This thing looks pretty nice. I wonder how it will compare to the Triplex and the Raptor. I would like to get a full featured receiver around Xmas time. Is there any pricing information for this yet?

More pixs....

One site says 500 to 600 mhz and a Spanish site says 1 ghz.

The heat sink looks like it can handle 1 ghz. without any problems. It has a much bigger heat sink than the Raptor. I've had the Raptor up to 600 mhz. without over heating, but for safety sake I've kept it at 500.

Hope there's more news soon.

Here's another Spanish site that is claiming 1 ghz. Hope it's true.

I sent a message a couple of day's ago to ask for the official specs/features..Still waiting and will post when I hear back.

If that is the site I think, he is usually pretty reliable..But would be nice to confirm and with extra info if possible.

I specifically asked on Blind Scan function that is a deal breaker for us here.

The remote for this is almost exactly the same as the one in my X2. Must be using the same supplier. Hopefully the price is good.

Usually, new receivers are announced a couple of months before they are actually available. I figure the GM hypercube will be available at retail before Christmas or about 4 more weeks. Just My Guess. EB

I should have further mentioned that the 500 to 600 mhz processor was an ad on a Euro site and the 1 ghz info was from a Spanish site. The email I received was from the Spanish site indicating they had no new info available.

We will have to wait and see if Santa Clause produces a unit next month. Yeah, I still believe in Santa Clause. LOL

It looks like they removed the box from their website.

It's still on the German page at the moment..Most probably delayed as many FTA boxes are..We have seen before where manufactures have to go back to the drawing board when It's not ready for prime time. Just guessing though..

I do not know what happened but you can expect them to be out with something else early in 2013. EB

Me too if I can get my hands on one. Looks like they already released a firmware upgrade and it's pretty big - 64822kb in size. That's a lot of coding. I like step 4 --- make sure you loosen that power button. LOL

Loosening your power button isn't as interesting as punishing your network setup like the Openbox instructions used to say.

Can the terrestrial tuner receive ATSC television here in N.A.

If not does any of the recent FTA boxes do this?

el bandido
01-26-2013, 03:52 PM
None of the OTA tuners work here because the U.S. and a handful of other countries decided to be different than the rest of the world.
We have asked for an OTA tuner for North America but no one has made one for us yet.
