Yesterday I have tested the Europe version of it; first drawback I saw: on Youtube can't open files. I wonder if your version has the same problem.
But , in addition, on HD channels, picture had lag, and also the sound (HDMI output). Monitoring CPU usage: 100% almost all the time; I rollbacked to 1.2.54 (online), but the very same problem!
Then I took time to do a clean install (using Spark rescue image, then upgrade to 1.2.56 online) and, surprisingly, on the very same HD channels, same plugin and settings, picture was super Ok, and CPU usage<50%!!! Everything but Youtube (the same problem, can't open files).
Questions:
Does the NA/NZ Spark version have the same issue with Youtube? Or on HD channels after upgrading?

[If you consider to do a clean install, consider first to save your Data Base, plugin settings if any, and an UPS if available to power up the STB during the process (don' blame Murphy if not).]

According to another forum:
"today i have received this reply from amiko support:

Unfortunately YouTube has changed their API service without any notice.
This is why your receiver is currently unable to play any videos.
We are going to release a new Spark software to fix this issue, hopefully next week.

The situation is also similar regarding the Weather Forecast service, however unfortunately the Google Weather API service is no longer available.
We are currently looking for another Weather Service to implement, however unfortunately I can't let you know any exact information regarding the time."

Good explanation, right on time, before ruining my STB on testing, or visiting a shrink; so don't blame Spark, blame Youtube...

There are not going to be any major changes in the firmware for the North American version. The bugs or problems will be the same for both North American and Europe firmware versions.

I've abandoned the 56 and downgraded to the 1.2.54 again.
Was just getting too many lock-ups.
These appear to be mostly I/O related.
A lot of them while watching recordings. Where the .54 will give bad pictures, the .56 just stops responding. The only thing that is left sometimes is SSH access, and what's weird, that even though it doesn't react to the front panel, nor the remote, the system is not loaded and still plenty idle. Fast forward triggers it faster, but the .56 screws up in plain play as well.
