Hello,

I'm somewhat unstaisfied with the Raptor. Mainly because of media playback problems:
-doesn't work for many formats
-for some media formats, audio and video go out of sync (audio is more and more behind video). I need to press pause and play again, then they are in sync again for a few minutes. Has anyone had the same problems?

Are there any 3rd party firmwares compatible with the Raptor?

Is Raptor capable of streaming live TV over the network? If yes, how is it possible?

Thanks in advance -

Welcome to Legit!
What firmware do you have in the Raptor now?
What is the format of the video you are trying to play?

Hi EB,
I'm using the latest factory firmware: v2.11.18.
As far as I could judge the video-audio sync problem is affected by the higher bitrate patrs of movies (eg. action scenes), and it is not related to the movie format, but I'll doublecheck and get back to you.

Also, what kind of hard drive are you using?
Have you thought about using Enigma2 firmware for viewing movies?

Have you thought about using Enigma2 firmware for viewing movies?I second that! I mostly use the VLC plug-in with HDMU E2 for streaming files from my computer to the Raptor, since it plays just about everything with no problem. E2 also has provisions for streaming live TV over the network.

Hi,
thanks for the suggestion regarding E2.
I've installed HDMU Holiday Edition from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Unfortuntately I'm having stability problems while watching TV (changing channels using DVB-C tuer). I had to restart the Raptor quite a few times.
On the other hand, movie playback seems to be better than using the standard firmware. I'll keep trying with it...

EB: I have a Toshiba internal HDD. I used to have the same playback problems regardless of the source: USB, internal HDD, network all the same.

I do not have any problems playing something that was recorded using the Raptor, but I have had issues with recordings that were made somewhere else or in different formats.
Enigma2 firmwares have helped me in the recording playback area. Also, firmware support has been dropped for the Optibox Raptor but you can use the flasher and load other firmwares on the receiver such as Openbox or Octagon.

Regarding movie playback, its the same for me!

Which FW do you think is the better, Openbox or Octagon? Could you please tell me which Openbox release is compatible with the Raptor?

In regards to which firmware to choose, it's basically a matter of personal preference. Many of us have tried different variations of Icecrypt, Openbox, Octagon, Xcruiser, etc. Most have their own quirks, likes and dislikes, depending on the dish(s) setup you are running. I always keep going back to Openbox 2.11.16 even though it has some faults.

The last E2 version I used was version 1667, it's currently available as 10630, which I have not tried yet. The same likes and dislikes applies with the E2 versions, they have their quirks too.

Thank you for your help!

Is there a list of STBs that the Raptor identical with, so I knew that I can try their software?
As for E2, I have problems finding the latest releases. Could you please send me a download link?

Here's the site for HDMU E2 downloads... select the AT7500 model.

I've installed HDMU_10630_E2_at7500_209_git_5282_nodebug_nolcd_Di ff0_gst_USB.tar.gz and it is the best E2 image I have tried so far.
In other versions, I had problems with the CI module, but this one works very well.

Now I can even watch TV on my Android tablet using DreamDroid :))

Thank you for your help!
