just wonder if this box gives you epg on it and also while i m scanning saw many hd channels been scanned on 118 w does this support 4:2:2

Yes, the box is capable of handling EPG as far as any FTA channel out there is sending the information. No, the X2 will not decode 4:2:2

(Getting the epg from a pay subcriber is not legal and we dont allow such talk. This is just a LEGIT FREE TO AIR. Hacking stuff are not allow in here.)

Not sure if its just not a feature on the channels Ive been on. But, I havent seen EPG on one single English channel yet. Same for CC. I know EPG does function because I saw listings in another language on a channel once. The X2 does appear to support CC too. So, maybe just an issue of channels not having the function.

O. B 9 have EPG on some chnls like Russia Today ,AlJazeera on 97w etc.
I'm pretty sure CNBS on 15W have Closed Caption ./my old viewsat ultra pull it /but not the OB 9 .
Can X2 pull cc on that chnl??..

Sorry for the delayed reply. I had to go pickup a new 8 foot solid dish. Ive been a little busy playing around with it.

Anyway, I tried TUFF TV and no EPG or Closed Caption. I cant even find a menu for closed caption. The subtitle menu has no choices available.

I had the same with MSNBC on Telstar 12, couldn't see anything for cc.

Thanks.I did Google it last night and the AV guy from satellitegyu 's site said CC is imposible with HDMI conection STB & TV .
lAst night I tryed Yelow-wHITE-red cable STB/TV and still no CC with the OB9 . I guess is the same like X2
