The easiest way to create a database of channel picons for U.S. sats is to use Picon-creator 1.1. This also works for other Enigma2 based receivers.

But there's a "quick and dirty" way to create a picon when a new station is found after blind scanning which you may want to add to your existing database. Metv is used as an example.

1-Google Metv logos with your browser. When you find a logo, using Firefox, right click and select save image as Metv. On some rare occasions you might not find a logo for some channels.

2-Open the saved image with MS Paint. Paint and its tab selections will vary in XP, Windows 7, etc. In Xp version select view>attributes. Change the width and height to 100x60 pixels. After the changes, save the file as a PNG extension.
With Windows 7, Home>resize>by pixel. Uncheck maintain aspect ratio.

3-Open Metv with your receiver and go to menu>information>service and you will see service reference displayed, (may vary with other Enigma2 receivers).
1:0:1:1:0:1:A1E8F86:0:0:0: is the service ID for Metv. Some skins on some receivers may show the service ID when the info bar is displayed by depressing the OK or enter button.

4-Change the file name you saved earlier as Metv.PNG to 1_0_1_1_0_1_A1E8F86_0_0_0.PNG.

5-Use Filezilla to upload the PNG file to the picon folder of your usb stick. It is not recommended to use the hard drive if it has a sleep mode. It will take time to spin up and take longer to change channels. Plus the extra strain of stop and go.

6- REBOOT. Your new picon should display in your bouquet and epg guide.

You can also use this method for debugging non-working picons.

Found an interesting thread on another site.

Some of the tips may or may not work with a particular image on a particular receiver, but an interesting read, nevertheless.
