Looks nice Costa,

Technomate have been around for a long time..I would imaging the support should be good...looking forward to seeing some pics and a review when you get it..

I just saw a few you tube videos, its menu is identical to the coolsat 5000 and 6000 models of which I have one of each that I haven't used for quite some time. The main technomate site has the latest file support which was released about mid-year, last year.

I some times pull the trigger too fast, I would have gone with the latest model as well. As long as blind scan is fast and accurate I'm sure this receiver will become part of my permanent stable.

It's nice to see the Coolsat gui resurrected and working. Just bear in mind that the blind scan patch for the F3/5 and 5000 series are still waiting to correct scan problems with 1000 to 3000 SR.

Mailman came a knocking today with my new Technomate 5302 receiver. I can't wait to start testing with this unit, I need to get a special adapter as I have never seen one like this from the UK:

Look at the back of the receiver and verify that the voltage is acceptable for North America. Then cut the plug off and install a new one, eliminating the need for an adapter.

It's definitely compatible, ac 100-240.

Before you cut the plug off, check to see which wire is grounded to the chassis and when you use a US three prong plug wire it the same way.

Of course the receiver booted up in pal so I had to break out my old tv that I use outdoors. My first impression is real good. The menu, as similar as it may seem to the old coolsat stb, is quite impressive and very detailed. I have it blind scanning Hispasat at the moment and its blind scan speed is fast, not as fast as the x2 but its tuner is the most sensitive I have ever tested. It scanned in 3 additional channels that the x2 didn't find. Lots more to come, some pics:

Did the Technomate find the big 45000 SR transponders OK?

IMO, blind scan is very unpredictable. I have found that blind scan is a crap shoot in any fta receiver. Some receivers blind scan better than others, but they all may miss something on one blind scan and get it on the next 2 or 3 tries. Some satellites like T12 seem to be more unpredictable during a blind scan than others. MSNBC was missed a lot on all of my receivers when it was active at 11709V 3198.

Yes EB, all 45000 tp scanned in when I blind scanned T12.

Blind scanning with the Technomate is a pleasure. It has nowhere the speed of the x2 but the info I get on my screen is incredible it tells me:

s1
s2/qpsk
s2/8psk
fec
16apsk
32apsk

I've never had a box that gave me all this info on the screen. The only issue I have is deleting or adding sats which I haven't figured out as of yet so I'm just renaming the sats in its memory and reassigning the orbital position so my motor knows where to go. It also doesn't hurt that picture quality is outstanding, even on most sd channels as well.

Does the motor work good, does it hith the sats good thanks.

Costactc
02-12-2014, 04:52 PM
Motor functions work spot on and that's with a crippled motor. I rename existing sats in its memory by deleting and the reenter the orbital position and send it to the sat which it does flawlessly.

Thats great costactc, I have ordered boxes before that say that they blind scan and the did'nt. same as the motor funcion, thay would go to another sat.

Costa, if you have the time, when you get to Galaxy 16 at 99.0°W C band and Galaxy 19 at 97.0°W Ku band, how about posting the scan info times in "Database for FTA receiver blind scan".

I'll give it a shot this afternoon. I scanned those sats yesterday as the dish is now parked on Amc 1.

I'll need to move the dish back to 30w, I just finished my ku arc and am parked at 125w. I've had the technomate 5302 for 3 days and can definitely say that this box will become a part of my permanent stable.

In addition to 11960 V 2500, there is an 11962V 3333. Transponder. Then you have the skinny 11984V 1100 DVB-S2 transponder. Is anybody getting all three of these transponders in a single blindscan?

The 1160 and 1162 transponders will be a big challenge for any fta receiver because they are spaced close together and are on the same polarization. The guard interval is supposed to be 2 Mhz each side of a transponder for a total of 4 Mhz between transponders. A lot of fta receivers will get confused trying to scan these two transponders.

Montecarlo is a live temp feed usually an hour or so. Canal 9, C11 Salta and Telemovil 5 come up find on my X2 blindscan. A very good challenge will be KCHF-TV and My Family TV on 99W C band both real close

11962 Solo Tango and 11960 locked in but I do get a bit of signal on the 11984 tp but not enough to scan it in. I'll add to the sat list.

One thing that I've noticed with the TM 5302 is that it sorts new channels and tp accordingly, no need to move things around as it is done automatically.

So Costa is this the most sensitive tuner yet? I like the fact that it shows the modulation.

Costactc
05-01-2014, 09:26 AM
Dollar for dollar, the best fta receiver I have ever tested. Tuner sensitivity is off the charts and its blind scan is fast if you use a high step but I prefer to take it a bit slower as it will not miss any tp and it will lock in even the weakest of signals.

I picked mine up on e-bay UK for about 100 pounds with shipping included so that would be about $200 CDN.
