Doing my research, there appears to be a lot of Enigma2 support from various groups for this box. I have found the following image sources:

- Black Hole
- Open PLI
- VTI
- VIX
- Open ATV

Is there a list of pros and cons that one would use to select one over another for the Vu+ Duo2?

Also, why would one select an image other than the one from the Vu+ developers?

1- Because some groups will release new additions/changes sooner than others.
2- Some images have working features that others do not.
3- Plugins may work with some and not with others.
4- Some are more stable while testing.
5- Personal taste.
6- Much more, which I probably left out.

Also.... My AzBox Premium Plus has issues receiving:

87w Luken RTV and TNN MUX
105w Bounce, Nuvo, Pursuit MUX
111w City TV MUX
127w Reels, OWS MUX

How does the Vu+ Duo2 do on these with your favorite image Eastof111?

I'll have to move the dish later tonight and check them out and get back to you. I usually keep the dish parked on 101.

I like VIX and ATV... been using ATV more often now that they have fixed the preliminary setup screen from German to English.

Vix still has a memory leak problem where the Vix spinner will randomly popup in the upper left hand corner when a button is depressed on the RC. The new ATV 4.0 has a very ugly boot screen, but considering it's beta, I think it's going to be a winner. The ATV group seems to test the newest drivers first.

I still keep BlackHole flashed so that I can utilize Meoboot with all the other images. This way I can switch images on the fly should a feature not work and it allows me to debug. In the end, the group that has the best blind scan will get my vote and will be placed in flash.

My Duo2 does not have any problems or issues with these channels.

My unit doesn't have a problem either. Although 111w is a little weak for me, nothing to do with the receiver.

Using ATV 3.0 again....

I have noticed a few hiccups tonight on 111.1W. Sometimes the audio will drop for about a half second and/or the picture will micro freeze.

Thanks guys. I generally keep my c-band dish at 101w too for Movies! and MeTV.

E_B, CityTV does have that funny drop once in a while and is a very weak signal for south Florida. Good to see the rest of the bad signals for my AzBox all work fine. So looks like the two CBS HD 4.2.2 feeds on 97w are the only 2 I won't get unless I keep my AzBox in my system. Aside from watching a few golf games I am not so sure that matters to me.

The images as supplied by the manufacturer in this case Vu+ is as basic as they come, it is simply intended to provide a working image while keeping on the rite side of the law. hence no official support for softcams etc. as for the teams you listed above they tend to fall into two categories.

1. OI Based. ( OI = Official Image ).
This is BH ( Black hole ) and VTI.

2. Pli based ( pretty much every one else but this is a fast moving area of development ).

now while officially teams such as ViX and ATV will be listed as Pli based they are in fact members of the OE-Alliance which it self is moving further and further away from Pli, for example the new OE ( Open Embedded ) Build environment used by the OE-Alliance for arguments sake lets call it OE-2 is no longer based on Pli's OE but a complete new build from the ground up, although some teams like ViX still do from time to time merge with Pli's master feeds for bug fixes etc.

ok so thats the long and boring part over, basically all images do the same thing but with their own twist, ViX are well known for their ( wife friendly ) images ( that even the wife can use ) and their EPG, which in the uk at least can't be rivaled by any other team. My best advice is to try as many images as you can and settle for the one that best suites your needs, but make a few backup images along the way, so if you ever need to switch back to a earlier image you can do it in seconds.
