Controlled Switch Question

My so called good quality ECODA control switch just went dead on the Ku (22Khz) side. Now have to replace it with another switch of equal or better quality.

A freind gave me a "Dish" switch (SW21), is this switch good enough to work with a C and Ku band FTA system, or is it just good for only the "Dish Network" system?.

Any recommendation for a suitable controlled switch is appreciated.

I've used sw21 switches in the past when I was a Bell subscriber but I have never given them a stab on c or ku band. The x2 premium doesn't have any part of its setup menu to accomodate or designate that type of switch.

22Khz switches seem to have a longer life than a diseqc switch, and I cannot recall having a 22Khz switch fail in my system. I do not see any real advantage of the Ecoda switch unless you want to put it in front of a diseqc switch.

I will like to add that there are different switch combination and different models that you could try but that is a thread discuss several times before. Since you posted under the X2 , are you having any issues using them with the X2?

Thanks fro the responce, I have never seen a switch this well made, it looks very sturdy, but if the X2 does not accomodates this kind of switch, then is moot.

So el bandido, you have used this model of switch before, but not for FTA?

carlospr43, I have not installed the switch to the systems as yet, so I am not having any issues, will install the switch and will report my Findings.

I have used a sw21 before on older receivers. Most new fta receivers will not accept a sw21. They do not have drivers for this switch.

Installed the switch and it is working, but have to turn the X2 on and off for the Ku dish channels to come in.

Personally, I don't use switches but when I did I used Chieta, EMP Centauri and Best Germany.

I agree with that statement, I don't think that it is the switch because before the Ecoda switch went bad, I had to do the same thing a couple of times to make the Ku channels and the C channels to come in. Any ideas of what. would be the cause

Buy a new diseqc 1.0 and all the problems will go away
