I know attempts were made to explain to me how to capture a screen shot but I didn't quite understand. What would be the easiest way to do so?

Type the ip of the box into a computer that is connected to the network of the receiver.
Click on grab screenshot under box control.
Right click on a screenshot that you want to save, then the computer will give you some choices on where or how to save.

It brings me to my dlink, the router which I use.

Your box has a different ip address than the router that is connected to it. Query the router and see what is connected to it or look under network in the box and see what ip has been assigned to it.

The Shoot Your Screen Plugin is what I normally use, and it gives more options than the web interface.

I've seen the shoot your screen but haven't figured out how to use it.

By far the easiest way to capture a screen shot is to enter this into the search bar of your browser (change the ip to that of your receiver).

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Then right click and save when you have the screenshot you want to keep.

I agree, it's the easy way to save a screen shot to your computer.
For jpg it's [Only registered and activated users can see links] and for png it's [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Just create a bookmark in your browser with the above info and the next time you need to create a screen shot just click on that bookmark. The picture will pop up and then just right click and "save image as", the directory and name you want to save on your computer.

The Shoot Your Screen plugin allows me to instantly save a screenshot by using the remote control for the receiver. No need to find a working network computer.

There are lots of features to the web interface, and if you do not take time to use it and learn it, you will never know what it is capable of.

I do like entering /grab to the ip in the web browser, and also think that is a great way to do things if you happen to be sitting at the computer.

Insert an USB drive in the receiver for screenshot storage.
Configure the plugin as seen in the picture, except change the path for screenshots to usb or usb1
A long press of the remote Help key should capture a screenshot and store it to your usb device.
