I'd like to add Tsmedia and kodi but nor quite sure how to do that. Do I extract to usb and flash or do I use filezilla? If filezilla is used where do I send the plugins?

The plugins that you are looking for may be in the feeds. The feed(s) is another name for a database of information that is maintained by OpenVix or another team. Look for your plugins in the plugin menu of the receiver. Press the green remote button while in the plugin menu and then wait a few minutes for the information to load and populate. The plugins you are looking for should be in "extensions". The full Kodi plugin should already be installed in your OpenVix image using the Solo2.

Look and see if it says no network and no internet connection.

Might also try restarting the network, sometimes that clears up any glitches.

No we went with a slightly different route, we chose not to bog the image down with another hefty plugin by Vu+ (same as with their HbbTv plugin), but rather allow users to install it by them selves if thats what they wanted, the XBMC plugin by Vu+ is available in the image feeds for those boxes that support it. (Vu+ SoloSE, Solo2 and Duo2).

The plugin is simply called XBMC dont confuse it with the XBMC launcher as thats a different plugin from a different author.

Thanks PR, where would I find it and how should I install it? The version I have works well but I am having unresponsive issues with Tsmedia.

It's in the plugin feeds for your solo2 but I am currently at work and I cant remember the exact path at the moment.

I had wifi setup issues with my zero as well. Insert wifi antenna and hard boot ethernet cable as well. Go to plugins, make sure your ethernet cable has been inserted, green button then drivers-you should see the driver that needs to be installed for your usb wifi. Go back after that to network and see if it is an option. Don't forget to test the network with your wifi only, remove ethernet cable.

That's odd. I am setting up my wifi here. Can you connect with your receiver, type in its ip addy and see.

Post a screenshot of the error you are getting. Type the ip of the box into a web browser on a network computer. Select grab screenshot under box control, and right click on the screen image you want to save. Doing this will allow us to see the error.

You probably have an ip conflict somewhere. How is the network connected to the receiver? Are you using a static ip for the receiver or DHCP?

rodder
04-12-2015, 03:08 PM
DHCP

el bandido
04-12-2015, 03:34 PM
Have you performed a network test using the receiver Have you selected one connection, either WLAN or LAN and Not both?? Is the link light Green? Have you verified that the ip assigned to the box is a valid ip for the network? I have seen many devices have an invalid ip assigned using DHCP by the network. For example, 192.168.1.1 when it should actually be 192.168.0.1

eastof111

Since you're using DHCP, for the heck of it, try assigning the box a static ip address, then reboot your modem and router and then your receiver and see if that cures the problem.

You had 5 green lights for the internet/network test, and still got the plugin download error message???

Erase everything and start over.
Backup the image, then download a new image that has never been installed. Set up the internet connection first.

This one is working eb but it has some things i don't like about it channel change it brings up a whole list and the sat positiner stays on all the time when you turn the receiver off. i think i may have found my problem with the vix image so i am going to load it again and see what happens

el bandido
04-13-2015, 10:27 AM
You can adjust the things that you do not like and set them to your liking. Remote control buttons can be customized to display what you want within reason.

The OpenVix image has similar features for customizing things to your liking. Get everything working first, then we can look at customizing the image.

i went ahead and reloaded vix for now to see if it had the problem i found for some reason WLAN and LAN are both checked and i can not get Lan unchecked eb i know you told me to check that in post #23 but i missed it somehow

openvix has both WLan and Lan checked dont know if that is the problem are not but when i had openPi on it only had Wlan checked trying to decide which one i want to run the biggest problem with Openpi is i like my sat positiner to turn off when i turn the receiver off.

You can set the positioner to turn off, but I consider those to be things to look at after the basics have been solved. All of these images can be adjusted or customized to a very wide degree.

Select the network that you want to delete, then set the user interface for that network to No. Save and exit, then reboot.

I turned off the lan network 5 times and rebooted never could get it to turn off. i have loaded OpenPli back on now if i can just get them problems fixed i had with it. how do i load the backup i had on my harddrive

el bandido
04-13-2015, 06:29 PM
Two ways to load the backup besides trying to do it with OpenPLi.
1 Reload an OpenVix image and then restore the backup.
2 Use FileZilla. Backup for OpenVix should be in: /media/hdd/imagebackups
Transfer the backup to your computer then load it like a normal image.

el bandido

Having the WLAN and the LAN activated can cause an ip conflict.
11416

To fix this, enter the network you want to delete and set the user interface to no.
11417

A prompt will appear asking if you want to activate the network. Select yes.
11418

Exit the menu and verify that the network has been deleted (Red X)

"i have now switched to openpi and tried to down load Ts sat editor and i get this error"

Bad magic number = Mismatch in python versions. Usually corrected by finding an updated version of the plugin. If that's not an option, going back to an earlier image version that uses the correct python version.

That error is easy to fix. Delete that plugin and I will get you a TS sat editor that works. But it will need to be installed manually using FileZilla.

It will probably have a Bad Magic Number issue, You can install plugins with .ipk extension in the Solo2 by putting the file on an usb stick, let the receiver play a tv channel, then insert the stick into the receiver and follow the prompts. You may need to put a check mark besides the .ipk file in the prompt window before it will load the .ipk file.

Attached are file folders that came out of my receiver. These files will give you two satellite editors and one pid editor.
These files will need to be installed in System Plugins directory, so make a backup before installing these files. For the Solo2, you will only need to reload the backup image if there is a problem during installation.

Install the satellites.xml file to: etc/tuxbox

Install the 3 folders to: /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins

The satellite editors are dependent on the satellites.xml file being in the correct format. The editors will crash if the satellite.xml file is the wrong type, so be careful or pay attention when upgrading. satellites.xml may be changed during an online firmware update or upgrade!

rodder

Got it all installed and working great

el bandido
04-18-2015, 07:30 AM
Very Good!
Put those files in a safe place, and maybe add some installation notes for them. Any satellites.xml file that I have is based on the satellite editors. Do not download the satellite editors if you see them in plugins because they probably are not exactly the same. If you want to remove one or all of the editors, go back to where you installed them and delete the folder(s). Then reboot.

Pay attention to online updates! These updates may erase and rewrite the satellites.xml in etc/tuxbox. Check this after updating and replace the satellites.xml if needed.
