I just received my newest little toy and when I mean little I mean little. The Freesat V7 receiver is 3" x 4" and barely outweighs a feather. It comes equipped with a wifi antenna, remote and an hdmi cable. Upon powering it up, it boots in auto mode so changing to Ntsc was a piece of cake. It only comes equipped with a Euro/Asia/Atlantic satellite list so you will have to manually change them yourself or create a list and flash it. I decided to scan Anik F1R at 107.3w as that is the sat that my 10' dish is parked on. Blind scan was fast and extremely accurate and took just slightly under 2 minutes. Its hd picture quality is crystal clear and that amazes me on a $39 box. It isn't a linux receiver but all functions I have tested thus far work flawlessly. I will be scanning my arc with this receiver and will post updates. Specs:

Freesat V7 1080p DVB-S2 digital satellite TV receiver IPTV WEBTV + RT5370 USB WIFI

Note:

Freesat v7 inside only europe satellite list, America and other area user need manual add transponders in menu.

if you mind it please don't place order first, factory is organizing other area satellist list file and will upload it to website for update.

I picked one of these up too. I set it up last nite and started scanning sats. I left it on a weaker channel on 97w last nite and had dessert real quick. Came back and the receiver froze up on the weak channel. So I unplugged it. Now the box is completely dead. Nothing lights up.:cry:

Nice to hear about these new receivers. I appreciate the information! Seems like there is NOT many places to discuss things like this anymore. EB

Sure, much appreciated. I think you would be better off posting the sat list file in other receiver files.

I took mine apart. Doesn't appear to have easily serviceable parts. I think I will pass on receivers of this size for now on. While I hope everyone's lasts forever, this receiver reminds me of the ismart m100 for reliability. They are about the same size as well. I prefer receivers with separate power supplies at least.

man that sucks, this little receiver is actually really nice so far in day 1. questions for you.

Did u get it with the wifi antenna? if so, let me know via PM if you want to get rid of it. Also the remote would be nice as a backup for my current one.

When I bought my v7 from ebay, I did not order the one with the wifi antenna. But the antenna from my Openbox x5 works just fine with it.
