Here is a screencap of the SX88 PVR Menu:

If your PVR menu is missing some of the entries, then download and install the firmware in the link.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Do a factory default after updating the firmware.
I will be glad to upload a satellites.xml for North America if it is needed.

Set the picture resolution to the correct setting for your tv and the jerking should stop.
There are some channels on 101West c band that jerk all the time, but the others should not jerk!

Here is a backup from my SX88. Download and install it using the SX88.

This file will give you the satellites I have loaded plus the channels I have scanned. Delete what you do not want or need.

Here are a couple of things to know about the SX88.

The channel and satellite file for the SX88 may be used in the Octagon SF4008, or the channel and satellite file for the SF4008 may be used in the SX88.

A regular satellite scan in the SX88 will automatically delete any transponders with no signal.

I did not send you a file to unzip!
Simply put the file on usb stick and restore it. Will upload some pictures showing how to do this.

Looks like a problem with the way I uploaded it. Let me see if I can fix it...

Download the attached file.
Change the extension of the downloaded file from .zip to .tar
The attached database file will work in the receiver after changing the extension from .zip to .tar.

Let me know if you do not know how to load a database or satellite/channel backup.

Download the attached file in post number 13.

The name of the file is:
SX88_2017_12_18_1.04.32_0.dbase.zip

Change the name to:
SX88_2017_12_18_1.04.32_0.dbase.tar

Then it will work in the SX88.

The attached file in post number 13 has 951.5 KB. So it is not empty.
I downloaded it from this site and installed it in my SX88.

Try this one:

Those files have data in them. They are not empty folders.

Most likely, your Windows antivirus program is deleting the contents of the folder because the extension has been changed. I have had that happen before.
The SX88 saves backup files as .tar, which is common for Linux. I will see if a .tar file can be added to our attachments. Changing the extension from .tar to ,zip was a work-around that does not work for you!

Just to help, I downloaded the zip file from Mega and unzipped it while in Windows 10. It's a good file after unzipping.

See pics...

I appreciate that.
I also downloaded it and installed it in my SX88!

Another problem I see with this would be the antenna settings from my receiver would be transferred to his receiver. The best thing to do would be to only transfer the satellites.xml file. The only way I know of doing that is using the DreamboxEDIT program.

You are not supposed to unzip anything. Just change the extension from .zip to .tar as mentioned earlier.

Forget about tar as that is just the file extension.

Look at this link: [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Change the name of the file using the instructions in the above link.

The name of the downloaded file is:
SX88_2017_12_18_1.04.32_0.dbase.zip

Change the name to:
SX88_2017_12_18_1.04.32_0.dbase.tar

Then it will work in the SX88.

Again,
The file is not blank or empty. I have downloaded it and others have downloaded it. Most likely, your antivirus program is blocking you from receiving it.

I suggest you install the DreamboxEDIT program that was included with your firmware update. You can use DreamboxEDIT to install a satellites.xml file into the receiver.
