I have a Edison Os Mio 4k coming
I was going to download some images to play with.
Is there a sticky or a link here, on how to load images.
I also saw it has multiboot, 4 slots
Is that Satdreamgr the best for blind scanning

Thanks for any advice

Welcome to Legit!
Did you purchase the MIO or the MIO+?
Is this your first enigma2 receiver?
Where did you buy the receiver?

There are two types of images.
The usb type will load through usb and will have a file named emmc in it.
To install usb image:
Download the usb image and unzip it to the mio4k folder.
The the mio4k folder with files on an usb stick, and insert the usb stick into the rear of the receiver.
Remove and then apply power to the receiver, and follow onscreen instructions for loading.
USB type images that contain the emmc file will only install in slot 1 of the receiver.

Multiboot images will contain a file named rootfs.tar.bz2.
Multiboot images may be installed on any of the 4 slots of the receiver.
The following instructions assume that you are using as PLI based image (OpenPLi or SatDreamGr) to flash from. Multiboot images are flashed "live", while the receiver is running.
To install multiboot image:
Download the correct multiboot image.
PLi and SatdreamGr will have multiboot in the extension. OE Alliance images such as OpenATV, OpenVIX will not have multiboot in the file extension, but it will contain the rootfs, and the emmc file in the same folder. So OE Alliance images can be flashed as usb(slot1 only) or multiboot, OE Alliance downloads are much bigger because they have both types of files in the download.
Place the Zipped multiboot image in a folder named downloaded_images, and install the folder onto an usb drive.
Insert the usb drive into the receiver, and select Flash image in the menus. after a few seconds, the image(s) on your usb should appear. Follow online instructions for flashing.

Ask if you need additional help. Flashing these images is easy once you understand how. You having previous experience with the Zero will help.

I HIGHLY recommend that you only use the image that comes with the receiver, UNTIL you get it tweaked the way you'd like it, and get a little used to it for a week or two while learning how it works. THEN think about installing other images in the other 3 slots.

Trust me, you'll be much happier than trying to load and use 4 images right off the bat before you even know all the quirks of E2 receivers...

Anyone that owns a Zero 4K already has enigma2 experience. There is no learning curve when changing between enigma2 receivers because the operating system is the same.

The image that comes with this particular MIO will most likely be an out-of date OpenATV image, which will not scan good for North America. If this is the case, it should be deleted immediately.

Question on my Edison Mio, I installed a second Satdreamgr from Legit download using multiboot instructions.
I had no problems flashing, everything went smooth (thanks EB)
I watched Tv about a hour before bedtime all was good, did not turn receiver off.
When I got up, It was stuck on boot, I unplugged and replugged, it will boot up and play fine for about 15 minutes or so, then back to boot
Do I need to reflash, maybe I got something corrupted.

Please leave it like it is for a minute. Maybe we can find out what is wrong.
Can you post the debug or crash log? One should be made every time it reboots. Check the /tmp folder of the receiver or in /home/root of the receiver, or in /hdd if an external hdd is installed. Look for enigma2_crash.log or similar. Zip this file and post it. Thanks.

Update, I couldn't get the receiver to boot when I got home to get a crash log file, earlier I could leave it unplugged for about 5 min or so and it would boot up for few min. not this time.
I downloaded a non multiboot image, openvix, and flashed with no problems, all was good for about 30 min or so and it went to boot also.So I
decided to try another
I flashed a non multiboot image from satdreamgr, it flashed very fast, Its been working for over 2.5 hours with no hiccups

Update: Thursday Morn. all good :th_thumbs20up:
