Flash image is used in TNAP-4. Previous versions of TNAP allowed the selection and loading of OpenPLi images or downloaded images. TNAP-4 allows the download of TNAP images, and perhaps in the near future, Openvision images.

We can also upgrade to TNAP-4 from other OpenPLi based images such as TNAP-3 using this system. The attached plugin should be seen in the "extra" feeds of TNAP 3.2 by doing an online update, then going to Downloadable plugins. Or you may install the attached plugin, which will point the Flash image portion of the image to TNAP-4.

Some issues were found in the time coding. These issues should be fixed. To keep correct time on receivers connected to the internet, NTP should be selected in the System time plugin. The internal clock of the receiver works quite well, so a time sync every two days should keep the receiver in sync. A delay of 15 seconds is suggested for wifi users.

Everything looked like it was going fine as I flashed the new image and updated. Last thing seen on my display was "The North American Project Ver. 4...do you want to Auto Restore?". I clicked OK. Now I have "Edision" on the satellite receiver front panel. My display says "Unsupported signal. Please check the device output."

Maybe the OS Mio+ is in a European mode with wrong resolution? Any hints what I can do now? I've tried power cycling but I end up at the same spot with nothing functioning on remote.

By default, the Edision boots in 720p 50Hz resolution. TNAP will start the default boot in 720p, 50Hz, but then it is forced into 720p 60Hz. So your resolution was correct until you performed the auto restore which changed it to something else. Either connect the receiver to a network use the web interface to set the resolution or re-flash the image.

You may also edit the settings file directly using telnet. You will need to understand the basic use of the vi editor to do this.
Start a telnet session. Then enter these commands:
init 4
cd /etc/enigma2
vi settings
When finished with vi, enter init 3

When I try communicating with Mio+ via webif using the usual IP address, I get no response. Maybe the address has changed, but I tried all likely possibilities. I also tried ftping in, again using usual IP address, but no communication.

I flashed previously using Mio+'s online capability and remote control. How can I flash now since it is frozen? Can I connect via the RS-232 connector on the rear panel?

I just saw your second reply. I am trying this....

Added: I can't seem to communicate via telnet either using its name of osmio4kplus. I have been able to telnet to it in past.

Is there a reboot possible by holding keys on the front panel? All I can do is power down but that doesn't seem to cause a reboot.

As an alternative, you can download and install TNAP-4.0-osmio4kplus_usb.zip.
The usb version will install to slot 1.

To load usb image:
Download image and extract files. You will find a folder named osmio4kplus inside the TNAP-4.0-osmio4kplus_usb folder. Copy the osmio4kplus folder to a good blank usb drive. Power off the receiver and insert the usb drive into the receiver. Power on the receiver and follow onscreen installation instructions.

Great! I used the USB method and Forced the update. The wizard worked and Mio+ is now talking to me again. TNAP 4.0 is installed. I have some work reconfiguring the satellites and settings but I'm not complaining. Thanks for the help.

Hello, good morning, I would like to know what is the process to install oscam emu in TNAP 4.0.

Sorry if by asking this question I break the rules, it is not my intention.

Online updates are available for Edision Mio, Mio+, and Mini4k receivers running TNAP-4 images. These updates are routine in nature, and how many updates are available will depend on the receiver and what is installed in it.
These additions have been made:
(1) Satellites.xml has 83w c band in it. This entry also includes a list of recently scanned transponders.
(2) C band LNB L.O. 5750 has been added to antenna setup.
(3) C band LNB L.O. 5750 has been added to the blindscan plugin.

My Edision OS Mio 4K+ Is not keeping time…a while after having the correct time set via NTP (not transponder) the time flips to some time in January 1970. The correct time is not sticking.

Firmware is updated to TNAP 4.0 2021-02-20, Enigma 2021-04-24, Kernel 5.12.0.

Internet (via Ethernet) is solid. I’ve tried some of the obvious possibilities like rebooting and trying some of the system time menu options. Setting NTP update to 30 minutes helps but that shouldn’t be the solution.

A few options are not clear to me although they seemed to have no effect noticeable to me:

- NTP cold start
- Use RTC time from deep standby

The major impact of the problem is that the front panel time is usually wrong but obviously incorrect internal time will have other effects. I acknowledge that the solution, as is often true, might be obvious. Everything else is working well.

Let's clear these up first:
NTP = Network Time Protocol
RTC = Real Time Clock

NTP cold start Tells the receiver to access the internet and get the time while booting.
Use RTC time from deep standby Tells the receiver to use the internal clock

I find the internal clock in the MIO receivers to be extremely accurate, and do not bother to sync the time to the internet for days due to the accuracy of the RTC. Some users sync the time (NTP) every 5 minutes thinking the box will keep more accurate time that way. In reality, the RTC in the MIO does not need to be synced with NTP for days!

If you updated online, and are suddenly having problem with tuners, the time, or basically anything else that was working correctly before the online update, then use Flash image to flash the whole image. The image was updated and installed for anyone to download as shown here:
17185

The best way to flash the updated image is to insert a good correctly formatted usb stick into the receiver, select any of the 4 image slots that has " with backup" beside it. Next, flash the image. Flashing will be automatic once it has started. A backup of what is currently in the receiver will be stored on the usb stick, and the backup will automatically be installed after the image flash is complete. The whole process usually takes 5-10 minutes, and there is no need to answer any onscreen questions. Once the receiver is flashed, it will reboot, then it will restart and the backup will be installed. The receiver will restart again after the backup installation is complete, and any needed packages or plugins are downloaded from the internet.

Regarding the failure to keep time issue: I installed a new image (the USB version from a new download into a new USB stick) and now things seem okay. As corrective action, I first tried to flash to a different slot, but the box would not boot after that...stuck at the Edision splash screen. So, I made a new install. Presumably, somehow, the earlier update to TNAP 4 became scrambled...one of those mysteries.

The advice to flash a new image was helpful. The penalty is the need to reconfigure everything but this was an opportunity to clean things up. Why multi boot would not work with the suspect image, I don't know. Will save multi boot for later experimentation, since I'm not familiar with options and processes for multiple images.

Some other images have a feature when you hit the green button on the remote when in the channel selection screen on the satellites tab that adds, besides service, providers and new. How can i have this on TNAP 4.0?

Having each satellite listed 3 times was very messy when you have 10 or more satellites in the list.
The "New" entry was deleted because it did not populate any channels for North America.
A Provider listing is available by pressing the yellow remote button when in the Channel Selection menu.

thanks for your response

i don't need providers, i only need the "new" entry because it is working, even in TNAP 4.0 (using openwebif)

using other images (openpli is one example) you can switch back and forth using the green button (from only service to the three of them and back)

We can make the second push of the green button display like this:
17217

Really though we need to only show the "New" listing when there is something in that folder. As it is now, "New" is shown for every satellite. So a bit more work to do...

For me it's only a temporal view so i can easily identify new services after a blindscan (feeds). How can i have it like in your image?

thanks for your help

Let's see what can be done in this area. The changes will be uploaded and available in online image updates when they are finished.

el bandido

We can count the services and tell "New" not to show if the service count is none or 0.
Then the next question is: Do we want to show the service count as seen here or just display "New"?

It would be a nice feature having a count for the new services

We need to have a setting for it where it can be turned On or Off...
