maincode is just lzma compressed.
save maincode.bin to pc with rs232 loader/dump function, select maincode only.
rename maincode.bin to maincode.lzma after downloading.
extract maincode from .lzma with 7-zip file manager.

There is mention of security chip in maincode, maybe why certain menus don't work when firmware is loaded into openbox s10.Also factory test screen? maybe like the openbox has?

I don't have the 9500, but so far from what Ive seen the ali chip boxes all have a test screen, just have to find the right buttons to press in the menu.

info screen 11111 is the bad news warning
warning pansat9500hdx (date) protection_ic fail
Like I mentioned before, probably why some menus don't work.

might be a danger to casual users if they try to load into a pansat.

On a real genuine 9500hdx what does the 11111 screen show?
It seems I can scroll down on that screen but there is nothing else but the warning message
when loaded on the s10.

I added a user note for this.

That is why I would have left all files in this thread.

I have attached a picture from the Pansat.

We normally don't like posting files in any discussion threads..Links to the files would be better in most cases...this Is a unique thread and they fit in well with the discussion..The files are also posted in the file section with a notice for the use of Advanced testers..

On the s10 kludge I just get the warning and no factory menu.
11111 is for the legit s10 factory menu also.
rs232 test requires a loopback connector plugged into the rs232 receiver port,
judging from ascii I saw in the maincode.Don't know about it's wiring.

pansat file size is 3.6meg,which I load via rs232 port.
If I backup firmware to usb once loaded it saves a 4meg backup.
I put the original 3.6meg firmware on usb and it doesn't show up
in the usb upload menu, only 4meg .abs files.
It that normal or is it because it's a bastard setup?

did we ever determine what tuner the 9500 uses?

The tuner has ERIT written on it.

Mine has ERIT written on it so it is probably a Serit tuner. I appreciate you clearing this up! EB

that is the only maincode I have seen so far that actually mentions tuner types.

hd-2 receiver firmware is similar, but it's a dual tuner receiver. The .abs file was 3.6meg,which is smaller than the usual 4meg s10 firmware. It attempts to boot on the s10,but fails the second tuner test. The sharp 7306 tuner shows as a avlink sp2227 tuner. The front panel is wrong, the s10 uses led and not vfd.
