android os install Edison OS mio 4k

Is it possible to install android on the Edison OS mio 4k ? I just want a set-top box to make older tv a smart tv & there are so many apps for android

No android but what apps would you be interested in? I know with Kodi Plugin Youtube, crackle, Discover+, Paramount+ and Netflix works using the Mio4k and Mio4k+. There is also the youtube plugin for watching Youtube content. Probably simpler just get a android box or streaming devise. Kodi setup can be a pain.

Thanks, I have arrived at the same conclusion. Great receiver, but learning curve is steep & do not have time. Android is much simpler .
