    My x5 crashed when loading newer firmware and brought me to a recovery screen. Numerous attempts to recover via usb failed. I used my 50 in 1 card reader with a formatted CF card to load the bin file onto in a folder named "recovery". Holding the OK button while powering on the receiver with the card reader plugged into the USB port is the method that worked for me. I tried multiple USB sticks that would not work until finally my CF card loaded it. Hopefully this helps someone recover their box.
