Ok, lets say, if I do Manual scan on 117w it picks up about 90 channels, if I do a Blind scan on the same sat it only picks up about 60, the manual scan is picking up more channels than the Blind scan in any satellite.

When you do a blindscan, a copy or log of found transponders is stored in temporary folder or /tmp. Can you zip and post these blindscan logs? They should be in .xml format, the same as a satellites.xml file.

    Very Good Information!
97W does not look too bad. 103....What the heck happened??

Can you make a blindscan of 116.8W and post the transponders that it finds, plus the amount of found Services? Let's see what it misses.

Also, can you look at an active transponder in satfinder and see if the signal disappears when you change from DVB-S2 to DVB-S? Would be great to know if it is set to autodetect.

    Thanks.

I forgot to mention, it is cloudy and drizzling out there, I will do some more blind scanning on a clear day.

So it is set to AutoDetect, which is good! The Octagon SX88 can most likely blindscan for that receiver.

As a test, Try installing the attached .satellites.xml. Install to: /etc/enigma2

Reboot and try scanning 116.8 using a Manual Scan. See how many channels it gets.

This file will add time stamps to the Service Scan, so you know how long the scan takes. You may install by putting the attached file in the receiver's temporary folder or /tmp

    In telnet:
    tar -xzvf /tmp/archive.tar.gz -C /
    Reboot.

    Correct.
Put it there and the receiver will use it instead of the one located at ect/tuxbox. Customized satellites.xml files should be put in etc/enigma2. This is done so the file will not be overwritten during a firmware update OR so it can be removed if it gives problems. All of my satellite.xml files are stored in etc/enigma2
