No. They are different, but basic antenna setup is pretty much the same.
There are mostly two image types.
(1) OpenPLi
(2) OE Alliance
Almost all enigma2 images are based on these two types, or a combination of these two types.
OpenATV is based on OE Alliance.

Yes hdfreaks blindscan is like or the same as openatv. Runs good, no major issues and I put the glamourAura skin ipk for Openatv and the skin is fine with hdfreaks image. Getting everything customized in the menus was a challenge. Some of the menus did not exist but I found them with the help button. hot key setup was with the red button long.

I just received the email from Brian at Titanium, 2/4/2019 with the invoice for my Edision Mio. It contains this as an interesting message:
Please note that we will soon be releasing a new OS Image of
SatDreamGR modified by "The North American Project". This
firmware will provide an excellent North American hobbyists
experience for new Enigma2 users. We will announce the
release on NA forums.Last edited by MikeB; 02-05-2019 at 07:54 AM.

Yes! Hours of programming by several awesome and talented volunteers will provide an Enigma2 experience which is tailored to the North American user! Details will be released as soon as the project is finalized and approved. Exciting times ahead!
BTW, Mike... I sent you that message because of your experience with past STBs models that we have worked together on...Last edited by Titanium; 02-04-2019 at 04:01 PM.

Working with a customer who is using OpenPLI 1/28/2019 release. The DiSEqC 1.1 switch does not switch from port one, but switching works fine with with DiSEqC 1.0 switch. DiSEqC 1.2 switching works fine with his Freesat V7.
I have sent him a DiSEqC 1.0, 4 port switch until we get this issue figured out. He is a new E2 user, so didn't want to put him through a lot of testing, or other images. Can anyone confirm using OpenATV and successfully using a DiSEqC 1.1 switch and protocol? I am a bit stumped...

There is no comment or talk about any switch issues on European forums that I know of. Does this person know how to use telnet? It would be great to see his settings file located in /etc/enigma2. I bet you will see the problem if you could get that file.
The settings file also contains logins for places such as Facebook. So those passwords would need to be deleted or removed from the settings file (If any exist) before viewing it. Otherwise, there is no other personal information in the settings file.

Not computer literate in any way. Just a elderly gentleman who was treated by his wife to a great satellite Birthday gift!
His wife was helpful in setting up the WiFi and downloading a shared file from my dropbox account so we could install the OpenPLI image. They are happy now that they have a DiSEqC 1.0 switch and after we spent over 3 hours on the phone getting to this point!
