Looks like this one will be released on 12-03-18, starting at 349 Euros.

The image has had two releases so far, too bad there is no receiver to test it with. LOL.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hope it comes out with blind scan. The supplied image just has auto and manual scans.

That receiver is made for Germany (Europe), and not for other parts of the world. The FBC or Full Band Capture tuners have been reported to have lower sensitivity than non FBC tuners. There are no DVB-S2 choices for this box except FBC tuners. A decent blindscan for FBC tuners does not exist, or at least None that I know about.

Vu+ has also turned its backs on the customer base, and has little to no communication with the enigma2 image groups. Vu+ used to be my favorite brand of enigma2 receivers, but the actions of Vu+ and the Lack of Concern for their product has turned me away from them. IF and I say IF a blindscan is introduced for this box, then it may or may not work correctly. When you complain or try to get the blindscan fixed, you will be told that it is an extra feature that was not listed in the specs.

So my advice to anyone in North America is: Stay Away From This Product unless you have money to waste and unless you are satisfied with the advertised specs listed below.
    Features

    Quad Core 2.1GHz
    Transcoding
    HDMI In & HDMI Out
    Detachable 2.5” HDD
    4GB eMMC/2GB LPDDR4
    HDR10/HLG
    2 x USB 3.0(Rear) & 1 x USB 2.0(Front)
    2 x Common Interface/1x Smart Card
    3.5” LCD for Mini TV

I need a good DVB-S2 receiver with internal hard drive and at least two Good internal DVB-S2(X) tuners. A decent or acceptable blindscan and reception of APSK transponders is also needed. It is unfortunate that VU+ cannot do any better than this for a High End or High Cost FTA receiver.

Too bad, the pickings seem to be getting slimmer by the day, especially when one needs to replace a 4 tuner receiver. I guess at this point I'd be happy to find a two tuner 4k receiver with good blind scan with or without internal hd capability. Especially before something happens to my current unit.

    Good Morning

Blindscan can be installed as a plugin. It is not preinstalled because just a few really can use it. Usually VTI is available when new boxes will be released. All the other teams, i simply don’t know. You should ask them yourself.
We deliver VU+ boxes with VU+factory Image.

Ask the salesman for a blindscan demonstration in the new Duo 4K. I doubt you even get a reply.

If blindscan is available, then why not list it as a feature?
If Vtuners or USB tuners are supported, why noy list this feature?

The answer is simple: Vu+ has crap drivers and expects the image groups to work around whatever driver issues Vu+ has.
Blindscan and Vtuners are not listed because if there are problems with these features, Vu+ can say they are addons. Addons are not advertised features so Vu+ may or may not fix them.

Look no further than the blindscan data and you will see 2018 Vu+ crap drivers.

C band does not exist in Vu+ world so we are forced to blindscan using universal lnb and convert. Totally unacceptable for a 2018 driver.

Edision knows we have C band and gives the correct output for it.

Vu+ did not list blindscan as a feature for the Zero 4K. so they did not support it. The 22KHz tone in the Vu+ blindscan was disabled so only the low side of Universal lnb will scan. (Unless you inject the 22KHz tone yourself)

Vu+ did not list Vtuner as a feature. There are 4 V tuner slots for the Zero 4K but only two may be used due to a numbering issue.
Both of these issue would be easy to fix but VU+ could not be bothered with it.

Maybe the Duo 4K will be a well supported FTA receiver with a great blindscan. But given the track record and attitude of Vu+, there is no way I will buy it unless it is proven beyond doubt to work as we need it to work.

The factory image is designed for developers and those in Europe.
I have always been impressed with the hardware build Vu+ has, but their support for receiver features has stopped.

Looks like Christmas will be short changed again in N.A., but not Euro land. Hope a new multi tuner 4k receiver is announced by end of year. But, I doubt it.

We should send emails to Edison to at least think about a multi tuner 4k receiver.

Anything with FBC tuners is probably no good for us. Those tuners work good for what they are designed to do, but we have no use for them here it seems. Plus FBC tuners do not receive APSK transponders unless something has changed.

These tuners that we are seeing in the entry level boxes will probably get put into dual or quad tuner boxes at some point. We will have to wait for it.

But at least the blindscan plugin has been rewritten by Huevos as an early Christmas present. Anyone wanting to test it should let me know. A thread about it is needed.
