The OSMIO4Kplus is a dual DVB-S2 tuner, and is the latest model from Edision. Unfortunately, this new receiver has a few problems, which can make using it in North America an unpleasant or frustrating experience. Efforts are being made to fix these problems, but it may take some time for this to happen. I will explain these problems to the best of my ability, and will report when they are fixed.

    Problem #1 Second DVB-S2 Tuner:
The second DVB-S2 tuner is nothing more than that. This tuner cannot receive DVB-S2X, APSK transponders, or T2MI transponders. Maximum Symbol Rate for this tuner appears to be 45000. Currently, the second tuner may successfully blindscan a satellite (101w c band), it may hang on the second step of a blindscan, or it may hang on the first step of a blindscan.

    Problem #2 Tuner 1 Issues:
The first tuner or the main tuner in the OSMIO4Kplus is capable of receiving DVB-S2X, APSK , and T2MI transponders.
Maximum Symbol Rate for this tuner appears to be 60000, and this tuner is identical to the OSMIO4K receiver. Currently this tuner is mixing the signals of transponders that are around 4MHz apart, have the same polarity, and a similar symbol rate. This mixing of signals is causing problems in blindscan, Servicescan, and in channel lists.

A few years ago, these problems would be considered normal in a fta receiver. The blindscan plugin is filtered to delete transponders that are around 4 MHz apart, and a hanging blindscan was pretty common. But today, these issues should not be present in a fta receiver such as EDISION, and I expect both of these issues to be fixed. We can roll back to the OSMIO4Kplus images that have a 5.2.0 kernel, or even use the OSMIO4K image, but these steps sort of remind me of putting a band aid on a bullet wound. I will provide some screencaps so we may understand these problems better.

Turning OFF or Disabling remove duplicates will remove the ~4 MHz duplicate check or duplicate filter in blindscan. Every transponder that is available will be displayed when you do this.

You may lose transponders if you do not disable remove duplicates as seen in these screencaps.

Transponders 3708v and 3748v have been removed as duplicates in this blindscan or blind search.
NOTICE: Using these settings when blindscanning will erase the tuning issue the OSMIO4Kplus currently has because the problem transponders are deleted and are not scanned!

The tuner issue is simple to describe: Transponders about 4 MHz apart with the same polarity and a similar symbol rate will be duplicated! This currently applies to the OSMIO4Kplus, and the OSMIO4K receivers using kernel 5.3.0

As an example of the tuner issue, the two Start channels on transponders 3704v & 3708v, 101w become exact duplicates.
The Heroes channel on 3744v becomes a duplicate of the Decades channel on 3748v, 101w

Installing a channel list will not solve anything either. Start TV duplicates and Decades duplicates immediately when the channels are selected after installing a Channel List.

Again, this problem exists mainly in the OSMIO4Kplus, & the OSMIO4K receivers using a kernel of 5.3.0. People that blindscan with the 4 MHz filter ON will not see this problem because the transponders will be deleted and not scanned.
This tuner problem exists in Blindscan, Servicescan, Manual scan, and in Channel Lists. Scanning for the duplicated channel using a transponder frequency 2-4 MHZ lower may cause the correct channel to appear. As an example, manually scan 3700v for 3704v, and 3740v for 3744v. EB
