    TNAP images use a driver that is not T2MI capable. This is mainly done for scan issues, and to separate small transponders that are usually 4MHz or closer in spacing. The receiver maker, and the tuner maker would like to see these problems resolved, so maybe one day we will have no need for a special tuner driver.

    Some of us can receive T2MI transponders, and others would like to blindscan for them.
    In the extra plugin section, I have added T2MI and No-T2MI drivers. Since these drivers are in plugin format, they can easily be changed by the user.
    More or less, Any plugin listed in the extra section will be for Advanced users.
    My definition of Advanced user is someone that has a bit of experience operating the receiver, and understands the installation or removal of Plugins.

    The box will reboot during the installation of the T2MI plugins.
    Nothing is removed in the uninstall of the plugin. This is done so the box will continue to run.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    I have labeled the different drivers in the About page.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] <----->[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Be careful with these plugins. Once the plugins are installed, they will have to be uninstalled before they can be used again.
    A recent full image backup is recommended before using these plugins. If you do not know how to back the image up, then you probably do not need to use these particular plugins.

    These plugins are recent additions. Do a Software update or opkg update in terminal to see them in the feeds.

    I just updated the image but it overwrote the hostname that I gave it and the /etc/hosts file was overwritten. I'm not sure if anything else was overwritten. These things don't get overwritten on Ubuntu but I guess this isn't Ubuntu.

    Exactly Where did you add or change the hostname?? What was the old hostname? What was the hostname changed to?

    Below is the output of /etc/hosts:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

    # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
    ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    fe00::0 ip6-localnet
    ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
    ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2 ip6-allrouters

    What was changed in /etc/hosts?

    To investigate further, I installed your backup image in post#63. You had already updated the image at that time, so I do not understand why you come here today claiming the image update today overwrote the host name and the /etc/hosts file. This is simply not possible as there was nothing to update!

    Np updates are available for your image.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    You may view the log file to see what files were updated in the last update.
    The files you mention as being changed Are Not in the logfile.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    As a follow-up, I checked the terminal for updates.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    The only updates that have been available in the immediate past would be Plugin updates. No files are installed during a Plugin or feed update, Except the package information is updated in the receiver. The package information that is updated resides in a sub-directory of the /var folder.

    I edited the /etc/hostname file which is what man hostname said to do to make it "permanent". It was osmio and I changed it to osmio4k-office in the osmio4k dedicated to my office and osmio4k-living for the living-room osmio4k.

    Here is another group of plugins that reside on TNAP feeds server, but are not yet available in TNAP images.
    These plugins need to be checked and sorted. The plugins that do not work or have the wrong architecture should be deleted.
    A download link will be provided to anyone that wants the job of checking and sorting these plugins. Else I will do it as time permits.

    When I went to "flash image" in the menu, it brought up "downloaded files" and 7.2 images (PLi). I flashed the PLi image with today's date. It is my understanding that it is OK to do this with TNAP3.

    Congratulations! You have just installed the latest image from OpenPLi!

    Flash image = Install a new image.
    Software update = Update existing image.

    For Clarity, TNAP versions 1 and 2 did not have any provisions for a Software update. TNAP-3 Does Have provisions for Software update. Flash image has always been for Flashing a new image.

    Now that you are on the latest OpenPLi image instead of TNAP. You will need to reinstall TNAP-3 if you want it back. You may also install the backup image that you made for fixing your channel list. I think it is in post#63.

    Flashing a new image would explain WHY you are missing some settings or customization's.
