I was rearranging this receiver today and happened to notice that there are two LEDs to the right of the numeric display. I searched all of the online documentation and didn't find any explanation of their purpose.
It's apparent that the green LED identifies when a valid/locked signal is present. But, I've never seen the red one illuminated.
I don't think that it'll effect the balance of world power or anything, but I'd like to know what the red one is for.

I appreciate the quick reply, but I'm not sure about it being that.
Looking at the circuit board of the little numeric display module, the green LED is labeled as LED081 and the red LED is labeled as LED082. I think that the three legged domed face chip to the right of them, labeled as IC081, is the IR receiver chip. I changed one out in a VCR some years back and remembered that it also had that same type of domed face.
