As per satbeam.com , you should be OK with a 30" or more in Louisiana!!

That is what I think, but at the moment having problem with capturing it, my elevation requirement is 17.5° , it appears that a tree might be on the line of sight, and there is no other place to locate the dish in my small yard.
Will keep on plugging and see if I can get it to pop up.

Make sure you have twist the right skew of your LNB! Good luck!

The skew is 55° clockwise, spent almost an hour trying without any luck, the tree is mostly blockin the sky view. Will try again tomorrow before giving up.

Have you been able to get any other birds with that particular dish? Also, is the lnb you are using designed to work with that shape of a dish?

There are many smart phone apps that can help you do a site assessment. These apps will show you where the satellites are located in the sky.
