Hello
For the last week or so I brought my Sam I 10 footer down for maintenance. After some paint some new screws, wires its time to install all back. As everybody knows I have use my 10 footer for years as a fixed dish mainly parked at 99W and dont have any experience dealing with Vbox or Diseqc 1.1 commands. I cleaned , lubricated my actuator and did some test in the floor to make sure it was working fine. So, hopefully by tomorrow I will begin the process using a DMS Vbox 6 and my Openbox X5. So bare with me for next couple of days so I will be asking for guidance!! Wish me some luck!!

Ask away Carlos. You'd probably be better off attaching the actuator on the right side when facing the disk from behind unless you have an interest in the circular Atlantic sats.

Well guys!
Today the rain gave me some time to work in my setup. Standing from behind the dish I pointed the dish to the true south. I played a little with the actuator until I get some signal on 99W. Unfortunately the actuator died on me. The Vbox 6 couldn't move it any more so I used a 12V battery charger. Looks like the motor on the actuator is worn running pretty slow. I was able to keep moving and ran the dish across the arc. Something that I don't understand is that if I set the dish at 99W and start to move to my left which is going down I see the dish going up. I'm completely new on this!! Jeje. Its time for me to order a new actuator so if you know a good one let me know. test the voltage on the vbox. It should output close to 40V and it should move the dish well. A car battery doesn't move them as well. I used some 12-14 gauge speaker wire to wire mine up. Were the numbers on the display of the vbox moving when you commanded it?

if the sensor in the actuator is not sending a signal back to the vbox it may show error. Its kind of like the pickup inside of a distributor on a car. I believe that sensor produces its own voltage. If it is 2 wire it should be magnetic. I don't have the manual for the vbox 6 but that could be the problem. There are limit switches inside the actuator that shut off the actuator at the limits that you set. I bypass them until I know where I want the limit to be and then I adjust it. Its just a couple of plastic gear-like pieces. For instance I set my limit at 133w. Attached is a manual for my vbox 7. It should be very similar.

Er2 Message (No Pulses)
 Re-check the wire connection.
 Make sure the actuator is not stopped by Mechanical
Limit.
 Check if the Reed Switch Sensor is broken.

Hello guys!!
Today I hit the jackpot!! I found out my Vbox 6 was bad and begin to use a Vbox II that Costatc gave to me some time ago. Ohhhh I didn't realized how much I was missing!. I was able to scan the arc from 43West to 121 West. I didn't want to go farther since Im using an old used actuator. After setting the antenna to 99W at 776 (on vbox II display) and finding my next sat 105W, I did some math and began the process. I was able to found and scanned in 43W, 55.5W, 58W, 78W, 87W, 91W, 95W, 97W, 99W, 101W, 103W, 105W, 116W and 121W. This is the funniest and interesting part I was missing!! Love it!! Now, I will call it for the day and tomorrow will begin the process of putting the cone plastic cover to the LNB and run the wire to the inside of the house. I still missing how to set of use the FTA box along with the Vbox so it can find the number I wrote for each sat. But for now, I'm really happy and now more than ever I will be scanning the sky!!!! Happy Monday!!

That's great Carlos!!

Nothing like a big dish with a motor on it!!
