Backup Settings

I need to know what i am doing wrong i go to software management, backup system settings, a do a backup but when i get ready for it it is not there
i also went into advance setting to make sure my hard drive is sellected for backup

Have you checked the backup folder on your hard drive to see what is in it?

i did not make a backup folder i thought it would just show as backup i looked and do not see a way to make a backup folder?

The backup folder is made automatically when the settings are backed up to the hard drive. Check and see if this folder is on your hard drive.

Something is not correct. I will try and post information in a bit that shows how to make and install a backup of settings.

Have you initialized the hard drive, or did you just plug it in without doing anything else?
How big of a hard drive do you have?
Has it been formatted?

Might be easier for rodder to use Filezilla, log on to receiver and go to /media/hdd and see if there is anything there, specifically /backup folder. Then proceed with instructions from there.

A few posts back he says there is no backup folder. I am thinking the drive has not been initialized.

i could not find a backup folder in the receiver but i looked at it with Fillzilla and there is a backup folder but nothing in it

i went ahead and done the initialize and formatt again and now it is working Thanks for the help

Glad you got it working! It would also be a great idea to make a backup of the whole image using the Backupsuite plugin..

I missed the post about no backup folder. Glad it's working. Once I do a backup, I usually keep a copy on my computer hard drive via Filezilla too, just in case the inevitable happens.
