CBC, Bell join forces to bid for 2014 and 2016 Olympics

The CBC is back in the Olympic business.


Jeffrey Orridge, executive director of sports properties for the CBC, announced Friday that CBC/Radio Canada will form a consortium with Bell Media to bid on the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and the Rio Summer Games of 2016.
 
Wonder whether they would be so quick to jump in they weren't getting 1.1 billion dollars a year at the public trough. I firmly believe that without that money, the CBC would die a fast a furious demise within a few very short years.
