DeSantis pushes expansion of Stand Your Ground law as part of ‘anti-mob’ crackdown

I don't know about this one.
TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis has drafted “anti-mob” legislation that would expand Florida’s Stand Your Ground law — a move that critics say will allow armed citizens to shoot suspected looters or anyone engaged in “criminal mischief” that disrupts a business.
Guns are not a solution to every problem. Giving a person the right to kill someone over the loss of property seems to be severe. But on the other hand, a lot of businesses are a person's or family's livelihood, so destroying the business could destroy the livelihood the business supports. Insurance may not cover riots or uprisings, depending on the policy.

Sooner or later, there is going to be a large shooting at one of these protests or riots. Some of the militia members or armed citizens that show up at these protests have paid thousands of dollars for their weapons and would like to get a return on that investment. Most of them look pretty tough, but what happens when they face a target that is shooting back? What happens when 20 or 30 of these armed citizens find they are suddenly surrounded by a couple hundred rioters who have also armed themselves with lethal weapons? Maybe a better solution would be try to stop the riots from happening in the first place.
