Edision Os mio 4k network name, can it be changed?

I now have a second Osmio 4k single tuner receiver to match my first one. The original (my main one) is in the living room, and hooked up via ethernet cable directly to my router on IP address 192.168.1.15. I just hooked up the second one in the basement, and it's running on the wireless network connection at IP address 192.169.1.133.

The original receiver in the living room is mapped in my Windows 10 laptops 'Network Neighborhood'. It sees it as "OSMIO4K" (all capitals when mapped)

The second receiver in the basement is clearly ON the network, BUT, I can't map it in Network Neighborhood. I believe that's maybe because it has the same name as the original receiver. Not sure, but I'd like to know IF there's a way to rename the receiver in the settings, and see if that can make my laptop see it?

P.S.

Ok, I just found out I could map to the new Osmio4k, via the command prompt and doing a Net Use R: \\192.168.1.133\root

That worked. Though, I'd still like to know if there's a way to change the name, so the network would be able to discover it directly via name.

What if I modify the hostname in the \\etc\hostname file using Notepad++, and the \\etc\hosts file and then reboot? IF I look at those files right now, it says the hostname is: osmio4k in both of them. What if I change it to: osmio4kbasement

Will that work, OR will it hose my image?

Edit /etc/hostname and reboot. That should do it. Here is an example:
TNAP 6 sf8008_1

sf8008_1 login:

If you want to make a long name like osmio4kbasement, you can. But I would keep the edit short and sweet.

That worked. I changed the name to: osmio4kBM, and rebooted.

Network Neighborhood now can automatically discover it, and shows both receivers now like I wanted.

Thanks!

The hostname can identify the receiver in certain situations. I doubt you ever notice it, but if something does not work for no apparent reason, then restore the hostname and see if it fixes the problem. Otherwise, everything will be OK.
