Turned on my computer today and found that the latest Firefox disabled all my addons due to their providing a better browsing experience. Total BS.

Here are a couple of how to restore temp instructions, but they don't seem to work for me.

If they don't restore the addons with in a few days, I guess I will just uninstall Firefox and load an earlier version and hope it doesn't have a back door.

Here's the site for downloading earlier versions.

I've got that version, and it didn't disable my add-ons. Sounds like it must have been corrupted somehow when it installed.

They (Mozilla) have a temporary fix:

Go To> Options > Privacy and Security > Firefox Data Collection and Use
> Check Mark "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data"
and
> Check Mark "Allow Firefox to install and run studies"

Extensions should activate after 2-3 minutes.

Guess I spoke too soon. 4 hours after I started using my pc, all of a sudden a message came up on FF saying all my extensions were disabled! No reboots, and I didn't restart FF or anything. Somehow it must have been delayed for me.

I'm now trying your fix above. Thanks!

Edit:

AND.... my extensions are now back and activated! So it worked.

Just got the message my add-ons were disabled. I'm using an old Firefox ESR version 52.9.0 32 bit and don't have those options in privacy and security.
