Gasl prices at the pump.

Gas prices at the pump.

In the UK yesterday regular unleaded (95 RON) dropped just below a pound to 99.9p ($ 1.51 US / $2.02 CA) a litre.

Just wondering how much you guys are paying for petrol across the pond, no doubt a lot less than we do in rip off Britain :twitch:

It is about 1.98 a Gallon here for regular unleaded 87 octane (91.1 RON) 93 octane(97.4 RON) is probably 2.53. Diesel is 2.05 at Irving about 6 miles down the road from me.

Regular unleaded is going for 84 cents a litre here in Calgary at the moment.

I'm asuming you can get 95 RON unleaded in Canada.

I hope so otherwise my MG ZR is going to have a fit. It pinks, coughs and farts like buggery on anything lower than 95 RON. It doesnt like supermarket regular unleaded either. I always have to use 98 RON super unleaded if using supermarket stuff.

Its just hit 15 years old and thus a classic car in Canada so i can legally bring it with me without the fear of it being taken off me.

Should be interesting driving a right hand drive on the right hand side of the road :yes2:

Its totally alien to me sitting on the left hand side of the car

Driving on the other side of the can be tricky...lol my brother in law has an old turbo toyota that's right hand drive and for me it was weird shifting gears with my left hand, but got in the groove pretty quick.

And this is where the thread goes off topic

How do you think i felt last time i was in Canada. Wrong side of the car, wrong side of the road, no clutch and going around rotaries the wrong way. Totally mental three weeks of driving for me.

It must be even worse when Canadians and Americans come to the UK, our road system is mental.

This video wasn't even filmed in the rush hour. There's about ten times more traffic in the rush hour.

Turning right on a red signal also threw me completely. You cant use the words sensible and British road system in the same sentence. Apparently were not clever enough to be trusted to turn left (our equivilent of your right turn) on a red signal even though there is absolutely nothing coming. If you do and your caught by the police you get 3 points and £100 ($200 CA) fine for your trouble.

Funny stuff! I was born in Scotland and came to Canada when I was 10 and looking at that video I would be in a crash in no time..lmao

Different provinces have some different laws as well, I can make a legal left turn on a red light if it's a one way street.

After looking around it appears that the minimum my ZR will run on is 91 octane premium which equates to European 95 RON. I bet the wife will forget and just stick in regular 87 octane :stressed:

we can get 94 octane at the pump at Sunoco stations. (98.5 RON) Its funny if you go to New Mexico and that area they have 85 octane gas. About 89 RON!
