I will be testing the Golden Media Triplex receiver on both ku and c band to see how well this receiver performs on blind scan and overall performance. I will begin with my ku side since most peeps here do not have a bud and my feeds are seperate so a c band arc thread will follow. I will be concentrating on linear sats and sats with frequencies ranging from 11700-12200 so that our scan time can be compared to other receivers and on sats which our members are more accustomed to here in North America. First up will be Telstar 12 at 15w, there will be pics with every post.

Thanks Costa!!

As far as Plug adaptors goes, I found a nice cheap grounded one a while back for $2.99 from my local Canadian Tire store.

The model is Electro EL-910..I tested it on the Openbox, Anaconda and Triplex and all working fine. If you plug it in one way and no work then just reverse...lol

It looks just like this....View attachment 3682

Telstar 12- 15W

All right folks, let's get this arc thread started. The Golden Media Triplex has an extremely fast blind scan and proved it to me on its first scan:

Telstar 12- 15W

Scan time: 2m:37sec

Tv Channels: 8

Radio Channels: 7

This scan and all scans will be for only fta open channels as this sat will normally yield approx. 145 channels.

Intelsat 14- 45W

Although I had previously stated that I would only be posting known sats with 11700-12200 frequencies, I decided to give the Triplex a test drive on a sat with it scanning the whole realm from 10700-12750. Considering the vastness of this scan, it's time was quite impressive:

Intelsat 14- 45w

Scan Time: 4m26sec

Tv Channel: 1

Radio Channels: 0

Telstar 11N- 37.5W

A new sat position for me on ku band as I haven't had a channel on this sat in almost 2 years, position has been saved for future scans. The Triplex scanned this sat in about half the time of my skybox s12:

Telstar 11N- 37.5W

Scan Time: 4m17sec

Tv Channels: 1

Radio Channels: 0

Intelsat 1R- 50W

Next up is Intelsat 1R at 50w. The Triplex smoked this sat in a blind scan and it scanned from 10700-12750. 103 channels scanned in but unfortunately all scrambled with the exception of 1:

Scan Time: 1m09sec

Tv Channels: 1

Radio Channels: 0

Intelsat 707- 53W

The last of my circular sats on my ku arc is Intelsat 707 at 53w. The triplex wasn't as fast on this one as in previous scans but considering it's a circular sat I'm not too worried. From here on in all our next ku sats will be linear and I'm sure it's going to kick butt:

Scan Time: 6m19sec

Tv Channels: 1

Radio Channels: 0

Amazonas 2- 61W

Next up on our ku arc is Amazonas 2 at 61w, a linear sat. I thought I'd spice the thread up a bit with a comparison. I have removed my blind scannin c band champ the Skybox F3 and have it on my ku feed to do a blind scan comparison speed with the Golden Media Triplex. The rest of this thread and the future c band thread will be to see how their blind scan speed compares against each other:

Triplex Scan Time: 2m53sec

F3 Scan Time: 4m05sec

Tv Channels: 1

Radio Channels: 0

Galaxy 3- 95w

Next up is Galaxy 3 at 95w, one of my favourite satellites for feeds:

Triplex Scan Time: 3m41sec

F3 Scan Time: 3m00sec

Tv Channels: 12

Radio Channels: 11
