Google to include Facebook comments in search results

Facebook comments will soon appear in Google search results.
Apparently the biggest Internet companies see a future where their indexing of each other in search engine results erases all meaning from our reality.

So while private users on Facebook will be protected, any public comments made through Facebook applets on other pages or the social site itself, will be fair game for search results.

As CBS News notes, the questionable changes come as Google is trying to broaden its reach to any user generated content that

Facebook continues to get attached to everything out there ... wow ... so glad I've never had it & feel sorry for people who do or have had it. Think we'll be seeing FB in the news more than it already is but don't think it will be for positive feedback.

Exactly Suzie, not everyone is savvy enough to make things private on FB.. There are so many kids on it that have not a clue. Just another example in my view that it SUCKS...lol

Facebook is the biggest waste of time in the history of mankind, now if google teams up with them, any searches made through the search engine will waste even more of your time because you will most likely have to filter out the facebook garbage yourself. When I search for information on something, I want answers from a reliable source, not from some teeny bopper you may have accidentally stated something or part of something I was searching for within their rant on how much they love Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga or their favorite flavor bubble gum. I think that google may spread themselves too thin and drive people like myself to other search engines.

Facebook is the biggest waste of time in the history of mankind, now if google teams up with them, any searches made through the search engine will waste even more of your time because you will most likely have to filter out the facebook garbage yourself. Very well said musicmanitou, the way it sounds it will be exactly that. It's too bad too because google has always been such a great search engine.

Well, a huge thanks is owed to Google for simply putting another reason, forward, for staying as far away from FB as is humanly possible and while it won't have one ounce of impact on Google, you can be rest assured, the first time a Google search takes me to some stupid FB posting, I will be sending them an email, and I won't stop, expressing my disgust

I am with you on that, they will definitely hear from me as well. Maybe with enough complaints they will give the option to exclude facebook in the search results. I have always liked google, when doing research I have tried several search engines and have compared results with google usually topping the list for revelancy and accurateness.

I'm sure we are not alone and there will be many others that feel the same way, I'll have to remember not to tick you off EC or my inbox will be full! lol

If they get enough complaints I hope they will try to satisfy everyone. They have made way to much headway in the market to let something like FB set them back. Lets hope they are smart enough to listen to the users.
