help

Hi and thank you Viper. I am really new at this fta stuff. One of my friends recently gave me 2 receivers he did not need anymore. I googled. Fta and found and joined this site. I have a Coolsat 7000 and a viewsat ultralite . Will they work on the sats suggested on this site ,if I get a motorized 36 inch dish or am I wasting my time and money? I read in the forum that you are very knowledgable at this Fta stuff. I apologize if I am not using the proper menu for info. I am. Also new at the internet and computers , please understand. I will appreciate any info you can give me, while I learn how to navigate around this website
Thank You
Litroc

Hey welcome again..Moved the thread to the new to FTA area. Thanks for joining up here..and I'm sure we can help you on your way with True FTA.

If I had my choice I would start with the Coolsat 7000 it has blind scan capabilities and a 36" motorized dish will get you going fine.
You will miss out on the HD channels and some others that require DVBS2..So once your set up and see whats up there in the clear you might want to pick up an inexpensive Openbox S9 to view the HD and other channels.

This is the place to ask, we have many knowledgeable member to help, so fire away when your ready and we will do our best to help you out.

I have a Coolsat7000 as well and I found that the factory file was not up to date and needed a 3rd party file to get an updated N/A sat listing then all was well. Using my CS7000 to control my 1m(39") dish with a Standard Dual output Linear LNB. FTA channels are on many sats so a motorized dish is a must. If you have any questions to get you up and going, we are here to help !
