Have no fear, between the cable companies and companies mentioned, such as Disney (ESPN) the prices will likely be high enough as to make it un-affordable. The silly part of this whole thing is that consumers are, rightfully, being treated like idiots. As stated in the article Disney gets approx. $5 per customer when ESPN is bundled even though only approx. 25% of those consumers watch ESPN so if sold as a la carte the cost would jump to around $20 per consumer it would not likely be a seller. If this is the case then it only further proves that consumers are being forced to subsidize channels and companies that would not survive on their own merits. I guess the proof is in the pudding.....consumers are idiots, they have the wallet and they decide how to spend the money. Cut the cord until such time as the cable companies provide a service that is actually what consumers want and at an affordable price. Won't happen, instead consumers will continue to complain and pay. Here's hoping Intel can pull this one off.
