For a BUD, the threaded rod pictured here that sets elevation, must be exactly to north of the post when in northern hemisphere, right ?

The cap on top of the post must be rotated before tightening to have that elevation setscrew to be towards north when put on the post, right ?

I have that same mount for my 6' dish. I would set the long bar that will mount to the dish at a right angle to the square metal piece on top of the post mount. so its like a T. Then put the mount onto the pole. Standing behind the assembly so you are near the long threaded rod, you will want to be facing due south. You could probably use a compass or a smartphone to find it. Then tighten the mount onto the pole. That should get you close. Luckily my due south satellite is 72w so its pretty easy for me on C or Ku because there a good transponders to set it up quickly.
