lilla completly confused

I did not believe that my dish being my location the elevation would be 29 degree it look like it can collect anything that come down from the sky ??? I must be doing something wrong on reading my tool(a basic angle finder)is it 29 of the 90 therefore 61?or is it because I am so direct under the sat(91 west g17):hmmm: hope to be illuminated, thanks

dish model DWD-80T /////at NOVA SCOTIA CANADA RIVER SIDE ROAD WEST BAY ROAD // LNBF KU BAND SINGLE-MODEL KSC 321 by DMS INTERNATIONAL and I am running a geost mini pro hd, my biggest problem is how to set inclination and by my reading it tells me 28.9 and by using a carpenter angle finder it would set my dish on a very inclined angle looking at the sky, thanks for the attention. a very confused.lilla

Dishpointer.com says the elevation for 91W is 31.8 degrees.

Offset Angle: 22.75

The offset or how far away from dish center the lnb has been moved on your dish is 22.75 degrees. Now we can do some math.
31.8-22.75 = 9.05 or 9 degrees. If you are using a protractor or angle finder, try placing it near the center of the back of the dish and set it at 81 degrees (90-9=81).

The lnb skew should be 25 degrees clockwise for a stationary dish. You probably will not get a signal, even if the dish is aimed correctly if you do not skew the lnb. So rotate the lnb in the holder 25 degrees.

thank for the reply it was very helpful it turn the light on (hopefully) my location give me 29.8 degree so I should be able to work from that . I might be able to find my way jet::wee_hee:
