Two Russian cosmonauts are outside the International Space Station on a six-hour spacewalk.
Flight engineers Dmitry Kondratyev and Oleg Skripochka left the Pirs airlock at 9:29 a.m. ET, NASA reports.
Their tasks are to:
* Finish the installation of a new high-speed data transmission system for the Russian part of the station by adding an antenna.
* Install a camera for the new docking module.
* Retrieve a package used in an experiment that monitors how materials degrade in a space environment.
* Remove an old plasma pulse generator that was used in an experiment on disturbances in the ionosphere.
