Lost green jobs small price for cheaper hydro, Hudak says

I must say, I find it simply appalling, the amount we will pay to have them set up shop here in Ontario. That being put aside, what I find more outrageous is the price Canadians are being asked to pay for solar panels compared to our American neighbors. I can go online and find solar panels for under $2 a watt with shipping at about $20 a panel, within the US. Canadian suppliers are demanding in excess of $6 a watt from Canadians. As a matter of fact, I currently have a window open where I am looking at a 215 watt Evergreen solar panel for $341.85US which equates to $1.59 per watt. They are also offering SUN made solar panels at $1.34 per watt. If we are expected to fork over $110 million over 25 years in "tax payer funded subsidies" then there should have been a stipulation that Ontario residents would get massive discounts but that would be counter productive to Dalton's union buddies at Hydro One. I may be one of the strongest proponents of "Green Energy" around, but there must be a cost effective means of producing green energy. The number of foreign owned solar farms being installed is insane and all are getting paid an outrageous amount per Kwh that rate payers will never be able to absorb. Until such time as politicians can develop a functioning brain, they should not be allowed to control the money.
