Movie bosses behind The Hangover sequel are facing legal action from the Louis Vuitton fashion house over a purse carried by Zach Galifianakis' character in the hit comedy.

Executives of the French brand have filed a lawsuit against the makers of The Hangover Part II alleging a handbag seen onscreen in the hands of Galifianakis is a Louis Vuitton fake.

The legal papers, filed at a federal court in New York on Thursday, state fashion bosses are unhappy with a scene in which the actor carries a bag with a LVM logo and says, "Careful, that is a Louis Vuitton".

They claim the bag is not a real Louis Vuitton and could cause confusion among consumers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Louis Vuitton bosses want the scene to be cut from the film, while they are also demanding a share of the movie's profits.

So, they want the scene cut and they want a share of the profits. If the scene is cut, why a share of the profits? In common vernacular we call that sucking and blowing at the same time. As well if it is a fake, then it is not a real so they get money..............why???????Maybe someday, judges will stop awarding money for stupid frivolous law suits. Deny the suit and then hand the company a huge fine for wasting the courts time

I agree E.C., just the mention of their name in the movie should be enough marketing for them. If they were really concerned about their customers they they should have a little info on their website on how to spot a fake, but of course they don't.
