WESTON, FL - Former MLB All-Star Manny Ramirez was arrested Monday by Weston, Florida police.
According to TMZ, Ramirez was arrested for alleged domestic violence. The outlet, citing two unnamed witnesses, reported he and his wife were involved in an altercation.


Ramirez, 39, retired in April after violating baseball's drug program for a second time. He would have faced a 100-game suspension, and played in just five games for the Rays this season before retiring.
The slugger batted .312 with 555 homers, a .411 on-base percentage and 1,831 RBI over 19 seasons, mostly with Cleveland and Boston. He also played for the Dodgers, White Sox and Rays.
The 12-time All-Star selection was the MVP of the 2004 World Series, when he helped the Red Sox sweep the Cardinals. He also won a title with Boston in 2007.
 
How someone that gets paid to play a game that they love & foks it up is beyond me.
 
Well, BB, I will never understand how people can get paid as much as they do to play a game, whether it be hockey, baseball, football, or whatever. Facts are facts, these are games and athletes are paid salaries that are so far out of touch with reality that it is insane. When the base salary of the NHL pays a player more than the leader of a country there is a problem. A goon that basically is paid to step in the ice and fight gets more that the leader of a country....insanity!! How about baseball where a guy is paid to be a DH. All he does is hit for the pitcher. Wait a minute, if the pitcher is a baseball player why shouldn't he hit? Sports are games and what these guys are paid is nothing short of ridiculous and has much to do with why I don't watch much in the way of sports any more. They are over paid and in most cases they under perform but get paid anyway. Maybe the salaries should be a base of $75,000 and every contract would have performance clauses. A bonus for HR, goals TD's, etc. Also include a cut for a cheap shot penalty that cause a game losing goal. Athletes are by in large nothing but a bunch of spoiled brats that people idolize for some reason. Ooops, I just fell off my soap box!!
 
Personally I think this guy is one of the biggest Prima donas in Pro sports.. and I'm not surprised he would take too violence against a woman..
Money can buy you many things, but it can't buy you character or common sense. It can however turn you into a complete arrogant Idiot..and that seems to be case with Manny.

Hope he goes to jail and gets bitch slapped....lol
