HALIFAX — The RCMP is warning Nova Scotians about someone trying to gain access to home computers.
The Mounties say they have received two complaints about an unknown male caller who claimed to be from Microsoft and then tried to access the person's personal computer.
They believe the caller in both incidents was the same person.
The caller claimed the potential victim's computer was infected with a virus and wanted remote access to fix it.
The Mounties said neither of the people receiving the call allowed access to their computers.
