New STB

[catthepatch]

Looking for a new stb on the cheap. My S9 has died to vertical only and am now down to 1 or 2 stbs that do DVB S2. Would like to get into the enigma class and HEVC if at all possible. Do not have a very large budget as times are tough. The SX88 looks promising and may be something I could afford. I follow a lot of threads and believe many of the members here boat anchor a lot of stbs. So, if any members have a boat anchor stb on the cheap, I would be interested in a discussion via pm. Thanks in advance...

Have you tried testing the thermistor on the S9? Common issue easy fix.....

I just cut it out and soldered the two legs together...works great...better to replace piece, but could do that to test it.

I think the Edision Primo is a better box than the SX88. You can also get it much cheaper than what Rick ants for the SX88. See link.

Thanks for the link to the Edison Primo el bandido. Will have to think hard on that one.

Decided that my money is worth nothing at the moment and a new year of stb's is coming soon. I will have to wait for a new batch to come out and in the meantime save my worthless money for another day at the pitch. Will eventually get to E2 someday!!!

Happy Testing!!!

Vu+ Zero 4K would be the best entry level enigma2 receiver on the market now.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
