Openbox S10 TP_PROG.DBS With CW Channels - Discussion

TP_PROG.DBS is a satellite file that contains a few CW channels for C band at 91 West.
This file is useful for updating the satellite information to older firmware(s) or for somebody that needs the CW channel information.

Is there an upgraded channel file for this since CW has changed transponders recently? Do they have a new hidden channel transponder?

I no longer make custom files for Openbox because my free time is spent making channel files for other receivers.
The CW channels are no longer hidden and they should scan in. EB

The link to the file didn't work. Just goes to a blank page. Is there another satellite file for this?

What would be the exact procedure to load a new list? I tried to load the one from my S9 and my s10 wouldn't turn back on. Is there any special steps to take?

Nothing special. It is a .dbs file. Put it on an usb stick and load it in the receiver. If the receiver dies, recover it.

tp_prog.dbs is actually a combination of user database (sat list) and default database, which may vary from receiver to receiver based on the rev of the firmware during the time of the donation.Stbhdeditor (a version of ali editor)came with split and merge programs;you would split the tp_prog.dbs into the userdb.udf file for editing, leaving the 130k sat.rom file divorced. You could then load the .udf file with the channel editor itself via rs232 or if you really had to use usb, merge the edited .udf back with the sat.rom file to get a tp_prog.dbs file back. For s9 to s10 conversion I would use the sat.rom from the s10 but the .udf file from your s9.You can also import the userdb.udf file with mst firmware tool.

Cool, i renamed the file and it worked. Only my STB reboots every time I try to run USALS and it also reboots on dvb-s2 channels that have a marginal signal so I think the box has a hardware problem. I tried 3 firmwares and same problem. It shuts off instantly when you try to turn on motor. :-(

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Sometimes things are sold cheap for a reason.
I would agree that your receiver has some kind of problem. You might disconnect the motor or better yet, disconnect the coax from the receiver and see if the turning off problem stops when you select usals or the motor.

I know surges on the coax make the receiver reboot, like plugging in the coax with receiver on(I have a push on adapter for mine)
Maybe look into different firmwares.

check to make sure the regulator chip on the power supply is the SD4844p,the SD4841p was only good for 10watts.
also check the date on the power supply board itself.mine was made 09-2011 one month before I bought it.
