Record from Sat receiver???

This is probably not correct place to post this question, but maybe someone will know? There are a couple of PrimeTime Transponders on Galaxy 19 (97*) that I don't seem to be able to record shows from. The video format says it is DVB-S (QPSK)! Can the FTA receivers not record DVB-S? or is there a trick to it, such as a different USB stick? Thanks for any help
 
You should be able to record SD without any issues.
What is the make/model of the receiver?
What is the make/model of the hard drive or storage device?
 
Hi el bandido....I am trying to record from two Hi definition transponders (CW network) on Galaxy 19 using an X2 and a GeoSat! These receivers will record the video but, a message flashes on screen and says the USB speed is to slow! After you record for a few minutes and play it back, the video is really jumpy and pixilates badly and will not play smoothly! Any TP that is DVB-2 will record with no problem! The Tp's are 4061 H 32360 and 3961 V 32360! Please try these Frequencies when you get a chance, there is not video on them all the time, only Prime Time after 7PM, mostly during the week! Thanks

I do not see anything on those transponders now. I suggest getting a hard drive that has external power. The error message you are getting says the drive you are using is too slow. A drive with external power is usually faster.
 
Hi el bandido.....Yes!, those TP's are mostly active during the Week after 7PM! The reason I like to use my Satellite receiver media recorder and USB stick to record with, is that the video quality is always in HD (264x .ts stream format) and I can save most all video right to my PC and playback in HD! Thanks
 
I cannot confirm all these are still up but recently from what i understand you can get these on a Bud C-Band.

Hello Guys!
Can anyone give some inputs as to why it is so hard to get this channels? I can pull almost all the TPs with excellent quality in this sat with my 10 footer but this TPs cant. Sometimes I do get some quality and I have download even the channels but can not watch them. Most of the times I dont get anything not even a bleep. I have tried playing with the LNB skew left/right in/out without any luck?? This is a good amount of good channels that are ITC since some time. Thanks
 
16APSK generally requires more signal. Try adjusting the dish and or lnb skew to get this transponder. Or get a bigger dish.
 
Try the usual holding the dish down or pulling up while in front of the dish at the six o'clock position. Same for the east/west position. If that shows no improvement, try checking the lnb center alignment with a laser pointer. If that shows no improvement, a larger dish is in order.
