TORONTO Charlie Sheen led a mini-crusade through the streets of downtown Toronto, to raise awareness of those with bipolar disorder.

Roughly 200 Sheen fans responded to an appeal the troubled star put out via Twitter yesterday.

They walked with him to the hall where he was performing the second night of the Toronto leg of his Violent Torpedo of Truth tour.

He told his fans they were awesome and that they really touched his heart.

Sheen was 45 minutes late for the walk, but that didn’t stop his fans from chanting “Charlie, Charlie!” and giving him a huge cheer when he did show.

Sheen indicated the money raised would go to the Calgary-based Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders Society.

Sheen has a history of drug and alcohol problems, and last month, his erratic behaviour prompted Warner Brothers to fire him from the hit sitcom “Two and a Half Men.”

When told in a recent interview that some people feel he might have bipolar disorder, Sheen said he’s not bipolar—he’s “bi-winning.”
