OK, swapped out the BSC621 for a 621-2d and connected the coax cable to the C-Band side of the LNBF. Still getting 30 to 35% signal strength and 0% Q. Figured it might be the ribbon cable oi I ran a coax cable from the LNBF to the receiver. Went to 44% but stayed at 44% whether I tried for C or Ku even though I was only connected to the C band side. Then as another test I tried connecting to my 39" with the same cable and still only got 44% S and 0% Q. Any suggestions?

You do not give us any information as to what you are working on and what receiver you are using.
I assume that you are trying to recover from the lightning storm and you have changed the c band lnb to a c/ku combination lnb. This c/ku lnb is installed on your 7.5 ft dish that is listed in your signature and you are trying to get signal using the Openbox that is listed in your signature.

If my assumptions are correct, the skew markings on these two lnbs will probably be different so look for a signal on the strongest satellite/transponder that you can find. The religious channels usually have the strongest signal on the satellites. Try adjusting the lnb skew and looking for signal at the same time.

Openbox S and Q signal bars are not accurate. My Openbox reads signal without a lnb connected to the receiver. This bug can be a pain when trying to look for a signal.

The combination c/ku lnb has never worked good for me on a 7.5 ft. dish. I wish you the best of luck getting this lnb set where it works correctly on both bands. EB

Thanks, EB. I am using my Openbox S-9 with a BSC621-2d. The old LNBF was BSC621 so both are C/Ku but the 2d doesn't switch. I have been working with C Band only connected and I am stuck on 103W, for now I can't move the dish, right now as I don't have anything to drive it with. New V-Box is on the way.

What receiver are you using?
The skew will probably not be the same. Try turning the lnb while looking for a signal on c band.

I would try a brand new coax, after my storm my cable was also shorted out and I had to replace the cable. it was a little strange because I could get some signal on the old LNB, but very very low on the new LNB until I ran a new cable, then all was good.

I have tried connecting to a cable that was connected to a separate dish around 20' away. Strength went fro 30% to around 44% but still no Q. Guess I will need to wait for the V-box to bump the dish as it may have moved in the winds. I know that my 39" moved a long way. I may look into picking up a 100' new coax cable and see if that will solve the issue. If it works then it will mean both the ribbon cable and the single coax (both buried) are fried.

Well, for anyone thinking of dealing with WWS, they are amazing. Placed my order for the new V-box, late Thursday night and I have it in my hands now. They are very fast and communication is excellent. I have some cable, for testing, bought new ends and a crimping tool so ready to see what happens. With only 44% S on the S-9, I dragged out old faithful, the CS8000, and dusted her off. Connected it up and she is getting around 80% S but no Q so now I am ready to start playing with the dish. Starting to suspect, strongly, that she has moved in all this wind. I,ll let you know if this solves the problem.
