Switching Receivers

The pass through or loop through will limit your satellites and channels to what ever satellite and transponder the main receiver is on.

If you only have the two receivers then it all depends on what type(s) of LNB's you have on the dish and how many and what satellites your looking at.

If only one satellite then a dual output LNB could be used, this would supply both receivers and allow independent channel control at each receiver.

If two or more satellites (it would be nice to know how many your currently receiving) it again depends on the type and make of LNB's on your dish, then a switch may be needed, for two receivers a 4x4 switch would work better, this would allow for independent channel selection on each receiver.

What type of LNB(s) do you have on the dish now?

I have the Titanium Satellite C1-PLL i only want to use my other receiver to watch the 16psk signals that my Mini will not get.

Well with a single output LNB your stuck with using the loop through on the mini, just set the mini to the satellite and transponder your looking for and you would be set.

Your signal levels will be lower then a direct connection but it should work.

For a true independent dual (or more) receiver setup for multi satellite work you need LNB's with 2 or more outputs, a single output single satellite LNB can't switch to another polarity transponder (on the same satellite) without a second independent output.

For any type of switching setup (or no switch) with dual receivers and independent channel switching one of these would work.

This way you could be watching a channel on a horizontal transponder on one receiver and a vertical transponder on a second.
