Tuesday March 15

Good afternoon guys, in LAX this afternoon, currently sunny and 80 + but smoggy as heck. Hopefully tomorrow will pick up a GS rescue to replace Zeus and Brock. Trixie is getting mighty lonely since they passed away. Hope she isn't too finicky.

Well, today was an interesting experience while driving to LA. Last time I was here to pickup Zeus, a GS rescue who passed away last year. I-10 from PHX to Blythe, Ca was usually 85 to 95 mph without any incidents (accidents, highway patrol, speeding tickets, truck drivers, drivers that like to homestead the left lane, etc) until one gets to Indio, Ca.

Once the two lane highway turns into four then six lanes the whole game changes. No rules apply..... 80 mph minimum all the way baby with every tom, dick and harry out doing everyone else who they feel are going too slow or in the wrong lane. At 80 mph they are passing everyone in the outer right hand lanes doing 90+.

In Indio, I was following someone in the left lane who was going way over the speed limit. I luckily noticed a Police unit entering the highway and slowed down just in time. He in turn caught up to the speeder in the left lane and just passed him slightly faster with no attempt to stop him. Traffic continued at 85 + with no one slowing down.... police unit or not.

Once we reached Riverside things naturally had to slow down due to the famous LA bumper to bumper traffic. Diamond lanes..... no one gives a sh**. The famous do as I say not as I do prevails in Cali. Well, what a difference two years makes since my last visit. It's me, me,me mentality. Now, while in my hotel room I am relaxing with a shot of Chivas that is very well deserved.

Well, I am preparing my self mentally for a good cannon ball run back home tomorrow. As soon as I am out of Cali, I will be able to relax and enjoy the scenery, with hopefully a new GS addition to the family.
